SpongeBob SquarePants Episode 1 Help Wanted – Reef Blower – Tea at the Treedome
Help Wanted: In the show's pilot episode, an eccentric sea sponge named SpongeBob SquarePants attempts to get a job at a local fast food restaurant called the Krusty Krab, with encouragement from his best friend, Patrick. Mr. Krabs, the owner of the restaurant, and Squidward Tentacles, a Krusty Krab employee and SpongeBob's next-door neighbor, consider SpongeBob unqualified for the job and send him on a fool's errand to return with a special mechanical spatula. Later, crowds of ravenous anchovies stop by the Krusty Krab and demand to be fed. SpongeBob somehow finds the spatula and utilizes it to fulfill the anchovies' hunger. He is then welcomed by Mr. Krabs as his new fry cook, much to Squidward's dismay. Reef Blower: Wishing to keep his front yard clean, Squidward finds a small sea shell and throws it into SpongeBob's yard. SpongeBob notices the shell and decides to use his high powered electric "reef blower" to remove the shell from his yard. Squidward is unaware what havoc is to ensue because of his small act and how it will ruin his quiet day. Tea at the Treedome: SpongeBob meets and befriends a squirrel named Sandy Cheeks. Sandy invites SpongeBob over to her treedome for tea, but when he arrives he is surprised to find that there is no water in the treedome. He tries to act like he is used to Sandy's air, despite needing water to breathe. Patrick later comes into the treedome, not knowing that there is no water in there. Sandy finds SpongeBob and Patrick shriveled up, so she gives them "water helmets" to solve the problem.

SpongeBob SquarePants Episode 2 Bubblestand – Ripped Pants
Bubblestand: One day, SpongeBob builds and opens a stand for blowing bubbles, charging 25 cents per bubble, much to Squidward's dismay. Patrick comes to the stand and asks to try it out, but fails miserably. SpongeBob offers to teach him and shows off his particular bubble-blowing technique that allows the user to blow bubbles into various shapes and sizes. Squidward attempts to impress them by blowing a bubble without SpongeBob's method, but fails. Eventually, he blows an enormous bubble by utilizing all of the techniques SpongeBob had taught Patrick and screaming at the bubble wand in anger. SpongeBob and Patrick congratulate Squidward, who thanks them and walks back into his house. However, the gigantic bubble engulfs Squidward's house, unearthing it and sending it up in the air. Ripped Pants: While at Goo Lagoon, SpongeBob accidentally rips his pants while trying to impress Sandy, causing everyone to laugh hysterically. SpongeBob leaves feeling embarrassed and sad, but a fish compliments him for the good laugh, making him realize the comedic potential of his accidental stunt, causing him to continue to repeatedly rip his pants intentionally as a joke. The joke is initially enjoyed by the residents of Goo Lagoon, but it soon becomes old and eventually goes too far when SpongeBob pretends to actually die while surfing, driving the beachgoers away, including Sandy. Later, he meets the three "biggest losers on the beach", and they ask SpongeBob what happened to him. SpongeBob tells his story and apologizes through a song, winning back Sandy and the rest of the beachgoers.

SpongeBob SquarePants Episode 3 Jellyfishing – Plankton!
Jellyfishing: SpongeBob and Patrick take Squidward, who is recovering from a bicycle accident in a full body cast, on a "jellyfishing" trip (a sport involving the capture of jellyfish). When they arrive in the Jellyfish Fields, a jellyfish stings Squidward, so he goes after it for revenge. He manages to catch the jellyfish, and bangs his net triumphantly against a queen jellyfish. The queen jellyfish chases after him, attacking him with a massive sting. The next day, the bandaged SpongeBob and Patrick go to the now life-support-bound Squidward's house to apologize, only to be chased away by the jellyfish caught by Squidward. As Squidward laughs about it, he is discovered and stung by the queen jellyfish again. Plankton!: It is mass chaos at the Krusty Krab when Plankton, Mr. Krabs' business rival, tries to steal the Krabby Patty formula for his own restaurant, the Chum Bucket. At night, Plankton attempts to make friends with SpongeBob by asking him for a Krabby Patty, but he loudly and boldly refuses and runs back home. Later that night, Plankton enters SpongeBob's head through a pore and makes his way to SpongeBob's brain. He attaches a mind control device to the brain and bends SpongeBob to his will, forcing him to walk to the Krusty Krab, get a Krabby Patty, and bring it to the Chum Bucket, where he intends to force SpongeBob to drop the Krabby Patty into an analyzer revealing the ingredients of whatever is to put into it. SpongeBob feels sorry for letting down the Krabby Patty, and his appetizing description of the sandwich causes a hungry Plankton to leap out of SpongeBob's head towards the sandwich. He lands in his own analyzer and becomes trapped in his computer Karen (he is 1% evil and 99% hot gas according to the analyzer). SpongeBob then leaves as Plankton begs for him to return with the Patty.

SpongeBob SquarePants Episode 4 Naughty Nautical Neighbors – Boating School
Naughty Nautical Neighbors: Squidward destroys SpongeBob and Patrick's friendship after being annoyed by them sending each other messages by blowing bubbles and laughing. Eventually, all goes terribly awry when SpongeBob and Patrick fight over who is Squidward's best friend. Squidward decides to invite Patrick and SpongeBob to a dinner party in order to repair their friendship. Boating School: SpongeBob has to go to boating school but continues to fail his driving test. He shares this info with Patrick, who decides to secretly give SpongeBob instructions during the test via walkie-talkie. Upon realizing that he has been cheating, SpongeBob goes into hysterics and drives wildly all over the course, while his driving teacher Mrs. Puff (Mary Jo Catlett) tries desperately to stop him. SpongeBob refuses to listen, causing him to crash the boat and fail the test again.

SpongeBob SquarePants Episode 5 Pizza Delivery – Home Sweet Pineapple
Pizza Delivery: The Krusty Krab receives a call from a customer ordering a pizza, so Mr. Krabs decides to have Squidward and SpongeBob deliver it. While on the way delivering the pizza, SpongeBob and Squidward get stranded in a desert, and Squidward tries to eat the pizza. Squidward becomes increasingly annoyed over SpongeBob's survival skills, but is impressed when SpongeBob manages to use a rock to return home. When they finally reach the customer's house, the customer gets angry that he did not get the drink he supposedly also ordered. SpongeBob cries because the customer does not take the pizza. Angered that the customer made SpongeBob cry and after what they went through to deliver the pizza, Squidward knocks on the door and throws the pizza in the customer's face. As they leave, SpongeBob tells Squidward that it is time to return to work, and the latter groans in displeasure when it's revealed the house they delivered to is across the street from the Krusty Krab. Home Sweet Pineapple: A horde of hungry nematodes come to town and consume SpongeBob's pineapple house (and other things). After this happens, SpongeBob reluctantly plans to move back in with his parents, though he will miss his old house and friends dearly. Squidward is delighted by the thought of SpongeBob moving. Nevertheless, SpongeBob attempts to stay with Patrick, only for the arrangement to become unsuitable. Squidward refuses to allow SpongeBob to stay with him. On the day he leaves town, SpongeBob finds a small pebble left from his house, and buries it where his house used to be. SpongeBob begins to cry, and his tears are absorbed by the pebble (which is actually a seed), causing his pineapple house to grow back, crushing Squidward.

SpongeBob SquarePants Episode 6 Mermaid Man and Barnacle Boy – Pickles
Mermaid Man and Barnacle Boy: SpongeBob and Patrick want to meet their favorite retired superheroes, Mermaid Man and Barnacle Boy, who are now elderly and living in a retirement home. They try to bring them out of retirement, much to the annoyance of the superheroes, who only want their TV repaired. SpongeBob and Patrick go through various antics to help them out of retirement and eventually succeed when the two heroes treat them as villains and use their superpowers to force them away from the retirement home. SpongeBob and Patrick then watch The New Adventures of Mermaid Man & Barnacle Boy on TV, which consists of the two playing chess and complaining that their telephone needs to be fixed. Pickles: Bubble Bass, a picky overweight bass and old rival of SpongeBob's, comes to the Krusty Krab for a Krabby Patty. Bubble Bass says SpongeBob forgot the pickles, and SpongeBob, shocked by this, loses his confidence. Mr. Krabs is worried about losing money, so he approaches SpongeBob to explain to him that if he remembers how to make a Krabby Patty, he will be back in order. It takes days, but SpongeBob eventually learns how to make a Krabby Patty properly again. When Bubble Bass comes again to challenge SpongeBob, he again says that SpongeBob forgot the pickles. However, SpongeBob is absolutely sure that he had put pickles in the Krabby Patty. He then grabs Bubble Bass's tongue to reveal to everyone in the Krusty Krab that Bubble Bass had hidden the pickles all along. Embarrassed by the revelation, Bubble Bass quickly runs away.

SpongeBob SquarePants Episode 7 Hall Monitor – Jellyfish Jam
Hall Monitor: Mrs. Puff makes SpongeBob a hall monitor for the day. SpongeBob takes this to mean the whole town as well and patrols the town, but it results in chaos. SpongeBob invites Patrick to help him patrol as a deputy. They learn that a maniac has been causing trouble around town. Eventually, SpongeBob sees a wanted poster for himself and realizes that he is the maniac. The police arrive to arrest him, and Mrs. Puff appears to explain the situation to them, saying that he is her responsibility. The police interpret this as taking responsibility for the crimes, and she is arrested. Jellyfish Jam: SpongeBob brings home a wild jellyfish and throws a big dance party. However, the wild jellyfish becomes addicted to the tune of the dance music, and continues through the night before inviting more jellyfish to come to the party. The next morning, SpongeBob wakes up to find his living room filled with hundreds of dancing jellyfish, and attempts to make them leave, but ends up breaking the music record-player, causing the jellyfish to become angry. After his pet snail, Gary calms them down by clicking his eyes together and creating a beat, SpongeBob uses Gary to lead the Jellyfish back out to Jellyfish Fields.

SpongeBob SquarePants Episode 8 Sandy’s Rocket – Squeaky Boots
Sandy's Rocket: SpongeBob and Patrick sneak onto Sandy's rocket ship one night. When they do, Patrick accidentally starts the engine but they crash-land back in Bikini Bottom. Thinking they are on the moon, they capture everyone believing they are aliens. Eventually, SpongeBob believes that Patrick is an alien. SpongeBob starts the rocket to return home, and when it reaches the moon, the rocket crashes on top of it. SpongeBob looks out the window and realizes his mistake as the captured "aliens" like a word with him. Squeaky Boots: Mr. Krabs gives his daughter Pearl a pair of old boots as a cheap birthday present, but when she refuses to take them, he gives them to SpongeBob, claiming that the boots are the boots of a true fry cook. SpongeBob enjoys the boots and the high-pitched, "squeaky" sounds they make, but the noises that the boots make begin to annoy Mr. Krabs, eventually to the point that he cannot stand the sounds anymore. Because of this, Mr. Krabs steals the boots and buries them underneath the Krusty Krab, reminiscent of The Tell-Tale Heart. The next day, SpongeBob comes to work crying because he could not find the boots. Mr. Krabs, feeling guilty that he stole the boots, begins going crazy, and eventually confesses that he stole the boots, then proceeding to fry the boots in a deep fryer and eat them.

SpongeBob SquarePants Episode 9 Nature Pants – Opposite Day
Nature Pants: SpongeBob decides that he wants to live in the wild with jellyfish, so he quits his job at the Krusty Krab and leaves his old life to live in Jellyfish Fields. Mr. Krabs is confident that he will return within a day, but Patrick and Sandy have a set-up picnic to try to convince SpongeBob to move back. SpongeBob resists every effort to get him to come home but soon finds out that living among the jellyfish is not quite as he had dreamed. He realizes that he had a great life that he gave up, so he returns home. When he gets home he is surprised by his friends who forgive and hug him, only for them to start itching from the poisonous sea urchins SpongeBob picked up while living among jellyfish. Opposite Day: Squidward plans to move out of Bikini Bottom after being annoyed by SpongeBob and Patrick. However, he is warned by the real estate broker that if his home is surrounded by bad neighbors, the house cannot be sold. Squidward tells SpongeBob that it is "Opposite Day", and that everyone must act opposite to how they usually act. SpongeBob later tells Patrick about Opposite Day. When Squidward is busy and the real estate broker arrives, SpongeBob and Patrick both pretend to be Squidward, giving her a tour of the house, while describing it negatively and doing the opposite of what she asks. Then, the real Squidward arrives and begs the broker to sell his house, but, feeling deceived, she refuses, leaving Squidward stuck where he is. In response, Squidward literally tries to run over the duo with a bulldozer, while sarcastically saying "Happy Opposite Day."

SpongeBob SquarePants Episode 10 Culture Shock – F.U.N.
Culture Shock: The Krusty Krab has a lack of customers, and Mr. Krabs tells Squidward and SpongeBob that the Krusty Krab needs ideas to bring in more. Squidward suggests a talent show at the Krusty Krab, and Mr. Krabs agrees. When the night of the show arrives, it is a major success, attracting a full house of customers. The final act features Squidward dancing to various genres of music, but the audience quickly hates it. They begin throwing tomatoes at him, making Squidward leave the stage. SpongeBob goes onstage and begins mopping up the mess, which the audience enjoys and starts cheering. F.U.N.: After another failed attempt by the evil Plankton to steal a Krabby Patty, SpongeBob reasons that Plankton is just lonely and needs a friend; that's why he's so evil. After SpongeBob befriends Plankton, the two engage in a variety of friendship activities. Unfortunately, Mr. Krabs must show SpongeBob Plankton's true colors.

SpongeBob SquarePants Episode 11 MuscleBob BuffPants – Squidward the Unfriendly Ghost
MuscleBob BuffPants: SpongeBob orders fake arms with inflatable muscles to impress everyone. When Sandy sees him, she decides to enroll the both of them in a competition, where each contestant must throw an anchor the farthest they can. SpongeBob realizes that this would expose that his "muscles" are fake. At the competition, every contestant heaves their anchors far, but with his fake muscles, SpongeBob cannot even lift his anchor. He inflates his arms to strengthen himself, but instead they explode, revealing him as a fraud. Squidward the Unfriendly Ghost: SpongeBob and Patrick think Squidward is dead after ruining his self-replica and that the real Squidward is a ghost. Squidward decides to take advantage of their mistake by telling them that he will spare them if they accept all of his commands. SpongeBob and Patrick decide that since Squidward is a vengeful spirit, they need to have Squidward put to rest. Squidward eventually admits his charade, but SpongeBob and Patrick believe that Squidward is simply in denial about his death. SpongeBob blows a giant bubble that engulfs Squidward and sends him floating up to the sky.

SpongeBob SquarePants Episode 12 The Chaperone – Employee of the Month
The Chaperone: SpongeBob is asked to take Pearl to her school prom after she was dumped by her boyfriend. When they arrive, SpongeBob clumsily ruins Pearl's experience, making him break down. Feeling sorry for him, Pearl attempts to console him and restore his confidence. Pearl and SpongeBob perform a dance, which everyone else soon begins doing. However, this results in many injuries and mass destruction. An angry mob forms and throws Pearl and SpongeBob out of the building. SpongeBob apologizes, and Pearl says that even though it was a disaster, it was really fun. Employee of the Month: SpongeBob is always the best employee ever but Squidward decides that he wants the Employee of the Month Award for a change. The two argue about the award and set several traps for each other as they both desperately try to reach the Krusty Krab first. They get there at the same time, just as Mr. Krabs opens the doors. They begin overworking themselves in an attempt to impress him, doing more harm than good, scaring Mr. Krabs out of his wits in the process. They then try to make as many Krabby Patties as possible, eventually causing the Krusty Krab to explode and presumably leading an appalled Mr. Krabs to deny both of them the award.

SpongeBob SquarePants Episode 13 Scaredy Pants – I Was a Teenage Gary
Scaredy Pants: SpongeBob is tired of always getting scared on Halloween and being called "Scaredy Pants", so he decides to dress like the Flying Dutchman to get revenge. For his costume, SpongeBob realizes that a real ghost has a round head, and that he has a square one. Patrick shaves SpongeBob's head, making it round. The real Flying Dutchman appears and explains to the people how offended he is by people dressing up as him for Halloween, and that SpongeBob's costume is the worst of all. He takes off SpongeBob's costume, which revealed that his brain is exposed as a result of Patrick's shaving. Subsequently, everyone runs away, including the Dutchman, leaving SpongeBob satisfied to finally have succeeded in scaring people. I Was a Teenage Gary: SpongeBob trusts Squidward to take good care of Gary while he goes to a jellyfishing convention. However, Squidward neglects him and Gary falls sick. SpongeBob calls the veterinarian, who gives him a syringe filled with snail plasma. Squidward accidentally injects the serum into SpongeBob's nose, causing SpongeBob to turn into a snail. The transformed SpongeBob approaches Squidward who runs in fear, accidentally injects himself with the serum, and thus turns into a snail himself. The three snails are last seen meowing a song on a fence at night, which annoys Patrick.

SpongeBob SquarePants Episode 14 SB-129 – Karate Choppers
SB-129: After being invited by SpongeBob and Patrick to go jellyfishing, Squidward refuses and wants to be away from them. He hides inside of the Krusty Krab's freezer, getting trapped in there. Two thousand years later, the freezer finally rusts open and Squidward finds himself in "the future." Attempting to get back home using a time machine, he accidentally goes too far back. After meeting prehistoric versions of SpongeBob and Patrick, he successfully gets the time machine working again, only to break it "mid-flight." As a result, he experiences "a surreal realm of nothingness". Suddenly realizing his loneliness, he attempts to escape and lands in the time machine room. He begs it to return to the present, which it does. However, he finds that he's now famous for inventing jellyfishing after having shown it to prehistoric SpongeBob and Patrick. Karate Choppers: SpongeBob is constantly practicing karate with Sandy, but he gets increasingly paranoid of Sandy's attacks, which is affecting his job at the Krusty Krab so Mr. Krabs orders SpongeBob to stop doing karate after attacking the customers or else he'll be fired. When Sandy does karate, she refuses to listen to Spongebob, and Mr. Krabs ultimately fires Spongebob and he runs away bawling as a result of his job loss due to karate. They attempt to forget karate, and go to the park instead. However, while slicing sandwiches, they begin doing karate again, which is seen by Mr. Krabs. SpongeBob gives Mr. Krabs permission to fire him. However, Mr. Krabs finds out that karate chops can replace knives, so he has SpongeBob and Sandy slice Krabby Patties this way which earns him more money.

SpongeBob SquarePants Episode 15 Sleepy Time – Suds
Sleepy Time: When SpongeBob goes to sleep, he gains the ability of astral projection (because of Mrs. Puff) and ventures into his friends' dreams. After a journey to his friends' dreams, SpongeBob then goes back to his own dream. When he wakes up, everyone is in his room, upset that he messed up their dreams except for Patrick, who only wanted a quarter. Suds: SpongeBob tries to fall asleep but fails. He decides that eating a seanut butter and jellyfish sandwich would help, but he accidentally leaves his refrigerator door open after falling asleep. The open refrigerator gives him a bad case of a sickness similar to the common cold called the suds, causing him to sneeze bubbles out of his pores. Unfortunately, Patrick foolishly tells SpongeBob that going to the doctor is a terrifying experience. SpongeBob asks Patrick to cure him, but he only makes it worse. Sandy then takes SpongeBob to a real doctor, who prescribes the "sponge treatment", involving SpongeBob being used to clean dishes, a car, a man's back, a human foot, and the floor. The treatment cures SpongeBob completely and he is given a lollipop. Patrick wanting a lollipop then fakes having the suds and gets the painful "starfish treatment" in which he is used to clean a cactus and a toilet.

SpongeBob SquarePants Episode 16 Valentine’s Day – The Paper
Valentine's Day: SpongeBob and Sandy set up a Valentine's Day treat for Patrick, a hot-air balloon made completely of chocolate, at a Valentine's Day-themed park. Unfortunately, their plan is delayed, as the balloon is attacked by scallops. SpongeBob gives Patrick a handshake in order to keep the balloon a surprise. Patrick nearly goes insane with rage, but SpongeBob's treat for Patrick arrives, and Patrick becomes friends with SpongeBob and Sandy again. The Paper: SpongeBob plays around with a gum wrapper Squidward threw on his yard. SpongeBob uses his imagination to have fun and do amazing things with the paper, and Squidward becomes jealous and attempts to take it back so that he can have fun too. However, SpongeBob refuses to give it back, as he promised not to. Squidward desperately begs SpongeBob for the paper, and is not successful until he agrees to trade everything he owns. However, Squidward does not have fun with the paper, and realizes that it is completely worthless.

SpongeBob SquarePants Episode 17 Arrgh! – Rock Bottom
Arrgh!: SpongeBob, Patrick, and Mr. Krabs play a board game based on the legend of the Flying Dutchman, which involves an in-game treasure hunt. Mr. Krabs likes the game so much that he wants to go on a real treasure hunt. In their hunt, SpongeBob and Patrick find the treasure, but Mr. Krabs says that all of the treasure belongs to him. They begin fighting over the chest, and their arguing wakes up the Flying Dutchman, who appears and congratulates SpongeBob and Patrick for digging it up for him. He takes the treasure, but gives them two gold coins. Mr. Krabs asks for a reward, but receives only a tiny plastic treasure chest. Rock Bottom: When a delightful day at the glove-themed amusement park called Glove World is over, SpongeBob and Patrick take the wrong bus when they are trying to go home and end up in the abyssal zone of Rock Bottom. Patrick gets on a bus to go home and accidentally leaves SpongeBob behind. SpongeBob makes several unsuccessful attempts to get on a bus. Meanwhile, he meets a friendly-looking anglerfish, who has SpongeBob's balloon from Glove World. The creature blows up the balloon, ties it to SpongeBob's wrist, and allows him to float up the cliff and back to Bikini Bottom.

SpongeBob SquarePants Episode 18 Texas – Walking Small
Texas: Sandy is homesick and wishes she was back in Texas. SpongeBob attempts to cheer her up by organizing a Texas-themed surprise party at the Krusty Krab. They go to Sandy's house to ask her to come to the Krusty Krab with them, but she tells them that she is leaving Bikini Bottom to go back to Texas. SpongeBob and Patrick are shocked by this, so after making several insults about Texas and getting Sandy angry, they lure her to the Krusty Krab. Sandy realizes how much her underwater friends care about her, and that Bikini Bottom has become her true home, so she decides to stay. Walking Small: At Goo Lagoon, Plankton arrives to turn the beach into the future site of a Chum Bucket branch, demanding that everyone leave the beach. However, no one listens to him, due to how small he is. He concludes that he needs someone big to help clear the beach for him, and encounters SpongeBob. Plankton decides to trick SpongeBob into being "assertive" in order to get the things that he wants. After a series of cruel and nasty actions by SpongeBob, everyone leaves the beach. Plankton then reveals his true intentions to SpongeBob, making him very upset. SpongeBob defeats Plankton by becoming "aggressively nice", performing kind actions that attract the people back to the beach. Plankton leaves the beach, disgusted by the overwhelming amount of kindness.

SpongeBob SquarePants Episode 19 Fools in April – Neptune’s Spatula
Fools in April: At the Krusty Krab, SpongeBob pulls numerous playful and harmless pranks on people. Squidward gets so annoyed that he pulls his own cruel and nasty prank on SpongeBob in retaliation. It ends poorly as SpongeBob runs for home, physically and emotionally hurt and the customers sympathize with SpongeBob and disown Squidward. Squidward goes to see SpongeBob to apologize, but finds it impossible to say "I'm sorry" to him. He is able to say it by putting a bubble over his head, so that SpongeBob cannot actually hear his apology. Squidward walks away, saying that his conscience is clear, but is confronted by memories of what he did. He goes back and genuinely apologizes to SpongeBob. Suddenly, SpongeBob fully opens his front door, revealing that everyone else is inside behind him, and witnessed Squidward's apology. Squidward states that he was fooling them as well before running away to his house while laughing maniacally. Neptune's Spatula: While at the Fry Cook Museum, SpongeBob pulls a legendary spatula out of a bucket of grease, summoning King Neptune. King Neptune is unconvinced of SpongeBob's skills and challenges SpongeBob to prove his ability, as he is not pleased to find that SpongeBob is the one destined to be his eternal fry cook. At the competition, King Neptune makes 1,000 burgers in the time it takes SpongeBob to make just one, winning the challenge. However, when Neptune shares his patties with the audience, they find that they taste terrible. Neptune is angered by this and tastes SpongeBob's patty, and finds it to be delicious. SpongeBob is declared the winner, but when he finds out that his friends cannot come with him to Atlantis, he refuses to go. He instead arranges for Neptune to be a trainee under him at the Krusty Krab.

SpongeBob SquarePants Episode 20 Hooky – Mermaid Man and Barnacle Boy II
Hooky: Mr. Krabs comes into the Krusty Krab warning everybody of the fishing hooks appearing in the waters surrounding Bikini Bottom. Patrick encourages SpongeBob to play on them with him, thinking they are not dangerous. Mr. Krabs catches the two playing on the hooks, and tells them that if they get caught they could be turned into gift shop knick-knacks or be packed in either a Tuna can or bottle of mayonnaise. Mr. Krabs makes SpongeBob and Patrick promise to never play with the hooks again. The next day, SpongeBob tries to avoid the hooks but gives in to temptation, gets caught on one, and runs to the Krusty Krab for help. The hook ends up removing SpongeBob's clothes in front of Pearl and her friends, and he runs naked to his house, embarrassed by the incident. As it turns out, Squidward was the one fishing, to teach SpongeBob a lesson. Patrick, who had been caught on a hook earlier, returns home in a Tuna can. Mermaid Man and Barnacle Boy II: SpongeBob wins a conch shell that can summon Mermaid Man and Barnacle Boy in emergencies. However, he abuses this privilege, constantly calling the superheroes to help with everyday tasks. Eventually, the two heroes are exhausted, and SpongeBob apologizes, explaining that he just wanted to spend time with them. As a result, they let SpongeBob join them on their daily patrol, but he ends up doing several accidental things, annoying them. At a diner, Mermaid Man and Barnacle Boy decide to "ditch" SpongeBob by asking him to search for their theme song on the jukebox while they flee the restaurant. Outside, however, they are attacked and trapped by their arch nemesis, the Dirty Bubble. SpongeBob comes outside to tell them, and sees their predicament. He asks the Dirty Bubble for his autograph, saying that he is his favorite supervillain, and "accidentally" pops the Dirty Bubble with a pencil tip, saving the day.

SpongeBob SquarePants Season 2 Episode 1 Your Shoe’s Untied – Squid’s Day Off
Your Shoe's Untied: After Patrick purchases shoes, he asks SpongeBob for help tying them. SpongeBob suddenly realizes that he forgot how to tie his shoes. He ends up going crazy because his untied shoes are impacting his daily activities and causing him to become a laughingstock. When SpongeBob returns home, Gary manages to tie his shoes in which his shell opens and reveals a record player that plays a song called "Loop dee Loop" that teaches SpongeBob how to tie his shoes again. Squid's Day Off: While trying to prevent a dime from going down a sink, Mr. Krabs gets injured and goes to the hospital. Before leaving, he puts Squidward in charge of the Krusty Krab while he is away. However, Squidward decides to take the day off and instead puts SpongeBob in charge of the restaurant under the disguise of "running errands". While Squidward relaxes at home, he becomes increasingly worried that SpongeBob will mess up the job, so he repeatedly rushes back and forth between his house and the Krusty Krab only to see that everything is fine. SpongeBob then points out that the "open" sign was turned to "closed" the whole time and that they could have taken the whole day off.

SpongeBob SquarePants Season 2 Episode 2 Something Smells – Bossy Boots
Something Smells: SpongeBob tries to celebrate his Sunday with a sundae for breakfast; after running out of ice cream, he makes a sundae out of rancid ingredients that give him bad breath. Everyone in Bikini Bottom is disgusted by his horrible breath and they try to avoid him. SpongeBob asks Patrick why he is being avoided, and Patrick says it is because SpongeBob is "ugly". SpongeBob goes into a state of shame, but Patrick helps him get over it by telling SpongeBob to say he is "ugly and proud". The two go to a movie, where people continue to avoid SpongeBob, upsetting him. Patrick eats some of SpongeBob's sea onion sundae. People avoid him too, and he's convinced he caught "the ugly" from SpongeBob. They soon realize that they stink. Bossy Boots: Pearl comes to work at the Krusty Krab during her summer vacation. She decides to change the restaurant's name to the Kuddly Krab and make it a teen-oriented restaurant. However, her ideas cause the restaurant to lose income, and Mr. Krabs tells SpongeBob to fix it without hurting Pearl's feelings. The job is becoming too stressful for Pearl, so SpongeBob pretends to "fire" her and allows her to go back to her daily routine.

SpongeBob SquarePants Season 2 Episode 3 Big Pink Loser – Bubble Buddy
Big Pink Loser: The mail truck comes and gives Patrick an award. However, SpongeBob sees the award that has his name on it and tells Patrick that it belongs to him. This makes Patrick want an award and become envious of SpongeBob's numerous Krusty Krab cooking awards. So Patrick gets employment at the Krusty Krab in an attempt to get his own award, but this proves to be a disaster, and he begins dressing and acting like SpongeBob as a result. He eventually gets an award. Bubble Buddy: After excitedly awakening on the morning of Leif Erikson Day (October 9), SpongeBob makes his own bubble friend because he is feeling lonely. Happy because of his new companion, he shows it to everyone around Bikini Bottom, but they refuse to share the same feelings for it.

SpongeBob SquarePants Season 2 Episode 4 Dying for Pie – Imitation Krabs
Dying for Pie: On Employee Brotherhood Day, Squidward thinks that he gave SpongeBob an explosive pie to eat and decides to spend time with SpongeBob while he is still alive in attempt to make his last day memorable. He does a bunch of nonsensical activities with SpongeBob only to realize when the day is over that SpongeBob never ate the pie, but reveals to Squidward that he was saving it so they can share it. SpongeBob trips and accidentally drops the pie on Squidward, causing a massive explosion. Imitation Krabs: Plankton builds a robot imitating Mr. Krabs to steal the Krabby Patty formula. However, while infiltrating the Krusty Krab, this proves to be easier said than done. SpongeBob then inserts a penny to the "self-destruct" slot of robot-imitated Mr. Krabs, which self-destructs the robot and ruins Plankton's plan.

SpongeBob SquarePants Season 2 Episode 5 Wormy – Patty Hype
Wormy: SpongeBob and Patrick pet-sit for Sandy and befriend her pet caterpillar, Wormy. Meanwhile, Wormy (now as a butterfly) wanders the town, but is feared by the people who don't know what a butterfly is, causing mass chaos. Sandy eventually finds the escaped butterfly in the ruins of the city and catches it into an empty jar. This leads to the rest of the city cheering about "catching the monster". Patty Hype: With the Krusty Krab low on customers, SpongeBob introduces his own idea: colorful "Pretty Patties". However, Mr. Krabs and Squidward deny his idea. Angry, SpongeBob leaves the Krusty Krab and sets up a stand selling his patties, which proves to be a business success. With such large attention, Mr. Krabs asks SpongeBob if he could run his business and in exchange let him run the Krusty Krab. He agrees and is delighted to be back at his old job. After the next day, the customers harshly criticize the negative effects of the patties at Mr. Krabs. The episode ends with SpongeBob rubbing pickles while Mr. Krabs gets chased by a mob of angry customers.

SpongeBob SquarePants Season 2 Episode 6 Grandma’s Kisses – Squidville
Grandma's Kisses: SpongeBob enjoys his daily visits to Grandma's house, whom he loves very much, but he is ashamed to go now since Squidward and other people mock him for loving his grandma too much. Patrick suggests to SpongeBob to act more like an adult to avoid being mocked. However, the plan backfires when he goes back to his grandma's house. SpongeBob sees Grandma giving Patrick (acting like a child) more attention, from cookies to stories and everything in between, SpongeBob gets jealous. Later, as SpongeBob prepares to leave for work, he sobs about wanting to be a baby again. This causes him an emotional breakdown, forcing Grandma to calm him down. Grandma reminds SpongeBob that she'll love him the same even as he grows up. SpongeBob and Grandma then embrace each other, well aware but not caring that Squidward and other people are still making fun of him (that is, SpongeBob). Squidville: SpongeBob and Patrick, while doing another of their charades, completely demolish Squidward's house with their reef blowers. Finally done with his crazy neighbors, Squidward moves into a gated community called Tentacle Acres with his own kind to find enjoyment, but he is overwhelmed by the results. He eventually became overly bored of doing the same activities over and over again. While Squidward is trying to play with a reef blower, the citizens get angry and try to chase him away. Squidward eventually uses the reef blower manically and flies out of Tentacle Acres. SpongeBob and Patrick, who happened to go into the town, had noticed what was happening but did not realize that it was Squidward.

Prehibernation Week: As Sandy prepares for hibernation, SpongeBob happily agrees to play extreme sports with her to have one last fun time with her before her long sleep. He soon regrets it after Sandy plays too risky and hides from her. SpongeBob hides from Sandy under Patrick's rock. Sandy forces the Bikini Bottom citizens to help her find SpongeBob, but they eventually get tired of her antics and also hide under Patrick's rock. Sandy proceeds to maniacally destroy Bikini Bottom looking for SpongeBob. The people throw SpongeBob out of Patrick's rock to be discovered by Sandy. This forces SpongeBob to rant to Sandy that he can't do extreme sports anymore and asks in desperation if they can still be friends. However, he sees that Sandy has already gone into hibernation and he goes to sleep too. Patrick, having returned from doing errands, finds the Bikini Bottom people under his rock. Life of Crime: SpongeBob and Patrick learn from Mr. Krabs about borrowing and manage to borrow a balloon, but are forced on the lam when it accidentally pops. They try to pay for the balloon but have no money. They run away from Bikini Bottom, and go to camp in the middle of nowhere. When Patrick eats one chocolate bar, he thinks SpongeBob stole it. They both race to the Police Station to tell the police, who go along with it and jokingly sentence them to one second in jail. It turns out it was a misunderstanding since it was "National Free Balloon Day", prompting both to promise not to take anything without permission again.

SpongeBob and Patrick try to escape the dome, but as the winter storm becomes more intense and the dome cools down, SpongeBob and Patrick are forced shear all of Sandy's fur to survive. Dumped: SpongeBob's pet snail Gary suddenly becomes attached to Patrick and leaves with him, leaving SpongeBob dumped. Out of jealousy, he attempts to find a new pet to show Gary that he does not need him. However, it's revealed that Gary was trying to eat a cookie in Patrick's pants pocket. After eating the cookie, Gary returns to a delighted SpongeBob.

Kevin asks SpongeBob if he wants to try out for the group, but Kevin's scheme is to actually get SpongeBob hurt and ridicule him. In the end, however, SpongeBob has been able to win the group's attention thanks to his heroic acts, and Kevin receives a taste of his own medicine after his negative attitude towards SpongeBob has gone too far.

The Flying Dutchman then has SpongeBob and Patrick help him go around Bikini Bottom to scare people as his new ghostly crew. However, the Flying Dutchman quickly gets annoyed with SpongeBob and Patrick's childish and stupid antics that foil his scares, and he decides to eat them. The two decide to steal the Flying Dutchman's sock, which is the mandatory item before he eats anything. He notices the two and asks to trade for three wishes, which they accept. After they waste the first two wishes, Squidward returns and the trio fight over who gets the last one. Gary Takes a Bath: SpongeBob has to give Gary a bath. However, Gary, hating baths, starts a full-scale war against SpongeBob in order to avoid a bath at all costs, creating a mass havoc across SpongeBob's house. Eventually, when scolding Gary from high up a tree, he falls down and becomes dirty. SpongeBob then has to take a bath while Gary smiles about it.

To get himself back to the Krusty Krab in retaliation, he intentionally acts very rebellious and spoiled towards Plankton. Frankendoodle: SpongeBob and Patrick discover a pencil that fell down from the surface from a human artist at sea. It is no ordinary pencil—whatever artwork or shape they make using it comes to life, and the eraser can permanently destroy it. However, an artwork created by SpongeBob named DoodleBob creates havoc inside SpongeBob's house. They eventually stopped DoodleBob from moving by pressing him against a hardcover exercise book, which the page was then pinned on the wall.

Even though it was disaster at first, SpongeBob finally convinces the other band members to go through with the performance for Squidward's sake, and he takes command of their training. At the day of the performance, the band arrives to play spectacularly, which had shocked Squilliam. He experiences a state of shocks and faints, leaving Squidward to celebrate as he leaps into the air.

Graveyard Shift: Squidward and SpongeBob are forced to work 24 hours a day by Mr. Krabs, so that he can get more money. Squidward soon gets bored, and tells SpongeBob a scary story to just scare him. SpongeBob then gets scared, but is told by Squidward that the story is fictional. However, when Squidward and SpongeBob are alone, the events in Squidward's story begin to occur. But not for long as the ghost of a non-fictional character named "The Hash Slinging Slasher" turns out to be someone who wanted to become a fry cook recruit in the Krusty Krab. Krusty Love: Mr. Krabs meets Mrs. Puff and is instantly smitten by her, going to his limits to prove his love for her. However, Mr. Krabs cannot control spending his money for Mrs. Puff, so he leaves SpongeBob in charge of his wallet. This is, however, easier said than done as Mr. Krabs repeatedly has SpongeBob buy gifts, exhausting SpongeBob. SpongeBob finally has had it, curses at Mr. Krabs and leaves.

SpongeBob SquarePants Season 2 Episode 17 Procrastination – I’m with Stupid
Procrastination: SpongeBob is assigned to compose an 800-word essay on what not to do at a stoplight as a part of his latest driving test. However, every time he tries to continue his essay, he constantly procrastinates to the point of having a nightmare about his procrastination gone bad. I'm With Stupid: Patrick's parents come to visit him on Starfish Day. He gets SpongeBob to act dumb so his parents will think he is smart. His parents fall for the trick, but Patrick forgets about the plan and begins insulting SpongeBob. SpongeBob gets angry and tries to convince Patrick's parents that he is smart after all. Patrick's parents don't believe him, and think that Patrick taught SpongeBob how to speak in a matter of minutes. SpongeBob gives up and runs to his house. Patrick then realizes these parents are not his true parents. Two other starfish come to the door who reveal themselves to be his parents, and the fake ones leave.

SpongeBob SquarePants Season 2 Episode 18 Sailor Mouth – Artist Unknown
Sailor Mouth: SpongeBob and Patrick discover a "bad word" on a dumpster behind the Krusty Krab, which Patrick says is a "sentence enhancer" used by people to "look fancy". They begin using it more often, but when they yell it in front of the entire Krusty Krab, Mr. Krabs confronts them and warns them never to use it again. The next day, SpongeBob and Patrick are playing a game, and after SpongeBob loses, he slips up and says that "word". Patrick goes to tell on SpongeBob but says the "word" too, and they tell on each other. Mr. Krabs prepares to punish the two when he trips on a stone and in a fit of pain, says all thirteen "bad words". SpongeBob, Patrick, and Mr. Krabs go to tell Mama Krabs on each other, and all of them end up having to paint her house in punishment. Artist Unknown: Squidward becomes an art teacher at the rec center where SpongeBob is his only student, to his dismay. SpongeBob produces impressive works, but Squidward scoffs his masterpieces and refuses to acknowledge his talent, causing SpongeBob to lose his spirits. An art collector named Monty P. Moneybags then arrives and Squidward passes off one of SpongeBob's statues, reminiscent of David, as his own. However, the statue accidentally breaks and Squidward needs SpongeBob back to recreate it. Unfortunately, SpongeBob can't make it again, prompting Squidward to give up and destroy everything. He inadvertently creates the same sculpture perfectly, though he storms out in anger without even seeing it, to which the building's janitor ends up taking credit for it.

SpongeBob SquarePants Season 2 Episode 19 Jellyfish Hunter – The Fry Cook Games
Jellyfish Hunter: SpongeBob gives a customer at the Krusty Krab one of his custom-made Jelly Krabby Patties. The customer loves it, so Mr. Krabs got SpongeBob to catch all the jellyfish to produce more Jelly Patties. A blue jellyfish brings SpongeBob to a factory to see that the jellyfish he caught are being mistreated by Mr. Krabs. SpongeBob frees the jellyfish and they get their revenge on Krabs. The Fry Cook Games: At the Fast Food Coliseum, the Fry Cook Games (a fast food-themed sports competition) commence. The main event is a bitter rivalry between Mr. Krabs and Plankton—fast food competitors and former Fry Cook Games athletes. SpongeBob is going to compete in the games representing the Krusty Krab, but Plankton enters the contest with Patrick representing him. The two become bitter rivals during the games, but during the last event, they become friends again when each is revealed to be wearing the other's respectively colored underpants.

SpongeBob SquarePants Season 2 Episode 20 Sandy, SpongeBob, and the Worm – Squid on Strike
Sandy, SpongeBob, and the Worm: An "Alaskan bull-worm" terrorizes Bikini Bottom, and Sandy volunteers to go after it because it ate her tail. SpongeBob keeps trying to stop Sandy from going, but she persists. They find the worm and Sandy successfully ties it in a knot and gets her tail back. SpongeBob reveals that the "worm" is actually the tongue of the real worm, and the worm is huge. Sandy and SpongeBob sprint away and it gives chase. They get to safety after the worm charges off a cliff and plummets down the chasm, then they head back home. Unbeknownst to them, Patrick and everybody in Bikini Bottom have moved the city to a new location at the bottom of the cliff so it will be safe from the worm. The worm then lands on top of the city and destroys it, emitting the word "ouch". Squid on Strike: Squidward and SpongeBob go on labor strike after Mr. Krabs forces them to pay unfair fees. The strike doesn't work, mainly because of SpongeBob's misinterpretations of the actions, and actually attracts customers to the Krusty Krab. One night, Mr. Krabs and Squidward have a long and hard negotiation, and things looks like they will work out, but the next morning, it is revealed that SpongeBob destroyed the Krusty Krab in rebellion. Squidward and SpongeBob regain their jobs, and have to work for Mr. Krabs forever to pay off the damages.

SpongeBob SquarePants Season 3 Episode 1 The Algae’s Always Greener – SpongeGuard on Duty
The Algae's Always Greener: Plankton is still yearning for the Krabby Patty secret formula, so as a wish of him disliking his normal and dull life, he changes lives with Krabs. When he finds himself at the Krusty Krab as "Mr. Plankton", he has to constantly fulfill his tasks as the manager of the restaurant. Plankton soon discovers that Krabs's life has many disadvantages, including trying to run the Krusty Krab. SpongeGuard on Duty: At the Goo Lagoon beach, SpongeBob wishes he was a lifeguard after seeing lifeguard Larry the Lobster adored by the beachgoers. Larry then offers him to be a lifeguard and SpongeBob becomes very popular in the beach. When Larry asks SpongeBob to take over for the day and leaves him, SpongeBob finds the hardships of being a lifeguard, especially since he can't swim.

SpongeBob SquarePants Season 3 Episode 2 Club SpongeBob – My Pretty Seahorse
Club SpongeBob: SpongeBob and Patrick build a small treehouse, and an irritated Squidward wants to join after getting enraged by the two. When they all try to squeeze inside, the house gets launched deep into the Kelp Forest, and try to use a novelty toy, the "Magic Conch Shell" (voiced by Sirena Irwin), to find their way home. Squidward does not believe that the toy has special powers and tries to find on his own a way out. When every time he fails, SpongeBob and Patrick are rewarded with a full buffet that falls out of a descending airplane. Squidward wants the food, but this fails every time when the toy refuses to allow Squidward to have the food. A park ranger comes and the gang believes they're saved, but Squidward is shocked when the ranger praises the same novelty toy. Squidward eventually gives in and praises the toy and waits for its advice to occur. My Pretty Seahorse: While planting flowers on the first day of spring, SpongeBob finds and adopts a seahorse, and names her Mystery. They become close friends, and when Mystery follows him to work at the Krusty Krab, Mr. Krabs orders SpongeBob to get rid of his pet after causing trouble for the customers. Instead of sending her away, SpongeBob hides Mystery in a cupboard in the kitchen. Mystery still unintentionally causes trouble and after he tells them a story of his early life with a dollar, Mr. Krabs advises SpongeBob to release Mystery back into the wild. So with a sad, heavy heart, SpongeBob does just that.

SpongeBob SquarePants Season 3 Episode 3 The Bully – Just One Bite
The Bully: SpongeBob gets terrified when a new student named Flatts the Flounder, who attends Mrs. Puff's Boating School, threatens him of kicking his butt. SpongeBob desperately seeks for help, but Flatts eventually corners SpongeBob and beats him up. However, SpongeBob's resilient body absorbs the blows, and yet he remains unharmed. Flatts continues to hit SpongeBob, until he finally faints from exhaustion before Mrs. Puff begins to beat SpongeBob up, as she mistook SpongeBob when she witnessed him punching Flatts in the face. Just One Bite: When SpongeBob learns that Squidward has never tasted a Krabby Patty, it becomes his obsession to get his co-worker to take even just a bite, believing that it is the reason why he is "always so miserable". After several attempts of making him taste the sandwich, Squidward finally gives up and tries the patty. He pretends to hate it at first, but actually likes it. Squidward gets obsessed and desperate for more (despite SpongeBob's protests that Squidward should not eat too many Krabby Patties at one time), and as a result blows up after eating thousands of Krabby Patty sandwiches in a vault full of them.

SpongeBob SquarePants Season 3 Episode 4 Nasty Patty – Idiot Box
Nasty Patty: A health inspector comes to the Krusty Krab unannounced. Mr. Krabs and SpongeBob have to give one of everything on the menu to the inspector so he can pass the inspection. After hearing a news report of a stranger passing himself off as a health inspector to obtain free food, Mr. Krabs believes that the inspector at the restaurant is the impostor. Mr. Krabs and SpongeBob formulate a "nasty patty" for the inspector and serve it to him. As SpongeBob and Mr. Krabs watch him suffer from the kitchen, another report comes and reveals that he is not the impostor. They believe that the patty killed him, and begin to panic. Mr. Krabs and SpongeBob decide to take the body and bury it, as two police officers investigate. Idiot Box: SpongeBob and Patrick order a giant television just to play in its box. Squidward gets to have the television, and while he is watching it he hears noises and looks outside. Patrick and SpongeBob are found in the box playing with their imaginations. Squidward hears more noises and suspects they have something in the box that creates the noises. Squidward finally sneaks out at night and finds the true powers of his imagination.

Mermaid Man and Barnacle Boy IV: Mermaid Man accidentally leaves his utility belt at the Krusty Krab. SpongeBob tries to return it to him, but it becomes too late. Doing Time: During a routine boating exam, SpongeBob gets into an accident at the Shady Shoals Rest Home. Mrs. Puff, being the driving instructor, is responsible for the accident and is taken into custody. In prison, Mrs. Puff starts to value her time at the Bikini Bottom Jail, being away from everyday complications in her life, including teaching at Mrs. Puff's Boating School, but gets feared when a guilt-ridden SpongeBob tries to make her escape. Then, Mrs. Puff, after being at the Bikini Bottom Jail for a short time, goes through repeated cycles of the accident and realizes it's possibly her imagination.

Snowball Effect: A snowstorm hits Bikini Bottom after a glacier settles above the city. For SpongeBob and Patrick, it means snowball fights. They go out in the snow and play, while Squidward complains about the racket. When SpongeBob and Patrick decide to have a snowball war, Squidward is dismayed when they call a truce, so he tries to restart the war. When demonstrating, he accidentally declares war on SpongeBob and Patrick, and takes it too far when building his fort. One Krabs Trash: Mr. Krabs has a yard sale that is made up of garbage, but finds himself frantically pursuing an off-handed sale to SpongeBob that could be possibly worth a fortune. He tries to get it back from SpongeBob so he can get the fortune, but finds it is worth nothing in the end.

SpongeBob SquarePants Season 3 Episode 7 As Seen on TV – Can You Spare a Dime?
As Seen on TV: SpongeBob makes a very short cameo in the first Krusty Krab's commercial in which he is barely visible in all scenes. SpongeBob lets his supposed fame go to his head when an elderly man recognizes him. SpongeBob feels he does not need his job at the Krusty Krab anymore, so he gives up fry cooking believing that he is a big famous celebrity, even though he really is not. Can You Spare a Dime?: Mr. Krabs loses his first dime earned and accuses Squidward of stealing it on the barest evidence. Squidward gets fed up with his employer's cheapness and insults, so he quits his job thinking he will find another one easily. He falls upon hardships and spends all his savings. He is forced to turn to SpongeBob, who he takes great advantage of. SpongeBob gets tired of doing everything for Squidward and must get him his job back at the Krusty Krab. In the end, after eventually finding the dime (which turns out to be huge), Mr. Krabs rehires Squidward but then accuses him of misplacing his dime, again on the barest evidence. Having started another argument, SpongeBob puts on his maid uniform Squidward ordered him to wear before, anticipating the inevitable.

No Weenies Allowed: SpongeBob and Sandy come across the Salty Spitoon, the toughest club in the city, after a karate duel at the beach. Sandy makes it through the bouncer, but SpongeBob does not. He has to prove to the bouncer that he is tough enough. After several attempts, with help from Patrick, he gets inside, but gets injured. Squilliam Returns: Squidward's rival, Squilliam Fancyson, has returned to torment Squidward on his failures since high school. He lies and tells that he actually owns a restaurant to impress Squilliam. He turns the Krusty Krab into a five-star restaurant after convincing Mr. Krabs to let him run it. However, things do not go well as Squidward planned. To make matters worse, SpongeBob loses his memory and goes in a wild amnesia.

He wants to be called "Barnacle Man" and everyone laughs at his protests, so he decides to team up with Man Ray and the Dirty Bubble. They cause chaos all over Bikini Bottom that alarms Mermaid Man. It stimulates him to call a league of heroes to stop Barnacle Boy. Eventually, Mermaid Man reaches an armistice with Barnacle Boy and Barnacle Boy returns back to the good side.

New Student Starfish: Patrick accompanies SpongeBob to boating school. Mr. Krabs loses his dollar after an overeager SpongeBob accidentally hooks it with his fishing line and throws it out into the water. A giant clam eats it and Mr. Krabs will not rest until he gets it returned, leaving his two employees stranded.

He overhears SpongeBob and Patrick hyping up a night out that they are planning, and figures that it would be a good way to get hip and feel youthful again. Mr. Krabs gets to tag along with SpongeBob and Patrick.

Patrick dresses as a gorilla and someone who looks like him comes up, it turns out to be a real gorilla and puts Patrick and Sandy in a bag forcing SpongeBob to face his fears and rescue his friends.

Plankton successfully steals the formula, with his family's help, but is frightened after discovering the key ingredient; Plankton. This revelation causes Plankton and his family to flee in terror. However, Mr. Krabs reveals that the formula is a fake to trick Plankton.

While at the Jellyfish Fields, SpongeBob realizes that he wants to fly among with the jellyfish. He proceeds to come up with numerous ways to fly. While at home, his hair dryer inflates his trousers, giving him the ability to fly. He goes around helping people, earning their admiration and becoming a superhero of sorts. SpongeBob grows tired of helping people with their trivial needs and attempts to fly with the jellyfish, but the townspeople chase after him. The chase ends when Old Man Jenkins (who's had a string of bad luck because of SpongeBob's flying adventures during the whole episode) launches from a cannon and hits SpongeBob, tearing up his pants. SpongeBob however is flown home by the jellyfish.

Pranks a Lot: SpongeBob takes Patrick to his favorite prank store where they purchase the latest prank item, the "Invisible Spray". Using the spray, the two become invisible and go on a major pranking spree across Bikini Bottom, scaring everyone in town as ghosts. At the Krusty Krab, Mr. Krabs catches the duo out and the prank is on them.

SpongeBob SquarePants Season 4 Episode 1 Fear of a Krabby Patty – Shell of a Man
Fear of a Krabby Patty: After seeing Plankton's tactic of keeping the Chum Bucket open for 23 hours, Mr. Krabs decides to keep the Krusty Krab open 24/7. Eventually, SpongeBob suffers a mental breakdown and develops a fear of Krabby Patties due to the nonstop work. Plankton pretends to be a psychiatrist, naming himself Dr. Peter Lankton in order to treat SpongeBob's phobia, and in turn get the Krabby Patty secret formula. Much to Plankton's dismay, SpongeBob stays asleep during a hypnosis session, where he overcomes his phobia in a dream, and goes back to the Krusty Krab fully rehabilitated. Shell of a Man: Mr. Krabs is going to a Naval reunion, but he moults his shell right before the event. So SpongeBob attempts to impersonate Mr. Krabs by wearing the recently molted shell. At the reunion, everything is going well, until SpongeBob has to fight one of Mr. Krabs' buddies and the shell breaks in the process. The real Mr. Krabs comes out and tells the truth, but to the surprise of him and SpongeBob, Mr. Krabs' old buddies had secrets to hide themselves.

SpongeBob SquarePants Season 4 Episode 2 The Lost Mattress – Krabs vs. Plankton
The Lost Mattress: Mr. Krabs is having trouble sleeping on his old mattress, so Patrick and SpongeBob buy him a new one and Squidward takes the credit. Unbeknownst to them, Mr. Krabs' money was in the mattress because he doesn't trust banks. Mr. Krabs ends up in the hospital suffering from a "cash coma", leaving SpongeBob, Patrick, and Squidward to retrieve it from the nearby dump; and Squidward will go to jail if Krabs doesn't come out. After a few encounters with a guard worm, they retrieve the mattress and Mr. Krabs is awakened from his coma. Krabs vs. Plankton: After slipping on a wet floor while trying to steal a Krabby Patty, Plankton fakes a serious injury and sues Mr. Krabs, asking for the Krabby Patty Formula in his lawsuit. SpongeBob is forced to defend him after the same floor injures Mr. Krabs' high-priced lawyer. SpongeBob spends most of the trial trying to open a briefcase, but what's in it can help Mr. Krabs win the case.

When SpongeBob tells him the secret to winning, Squidward finally wins something, a hairless teddy bear. His constant bragging soon gets the better of him though. Good Neighbors: It's Sunday, and Squidward just wants to relax for his only day off. He has a pedicure scheduled for later in the afternoon, but SpongeBob and Patrick keep thwarting his plans and spoiling his day by inaugurating him as the unwilling president of a Good Neighbor organization. When Squidward is taken to the hospital by a couple who thinks he's sick, SpongeBob and Patrick end up getting his pedicure, infuriating him into setting up a new security system in his home. Eventually, things get out of hand when Squidward's house comes to life and attacks Bikini Bottom.

Selling Out: Mr. Krabs sells the Krusty Krab to a franchise restaurateur and retires, leaving SpongeBob and Squidward with an over-peppy new manager and a new way of business. The new manager renames the Krusty Krab to "Krabby O' Mondays". Mr. Krabs, bored of retirement, takes a job as a busboy at the Krabby O' Mondays, but is shocked at the changes, especially to the Krabby Patties, now made with synthetic gray glop. Mr. Krabs then destroys Krabby O' Mondays, buying it back, and gets SpongeBob and Squidward their original jobs back. Funny Pants: Squidward tricks SpongeBob into thinking he broke his "laugh box" after he is annoyed by his laughter one too many times. Concerned, SpongeBob attempts not to laugh for an entire day, and although he succeeds, he finds he cannot laugh anymore the next morning. He cries profusely until Squidward admits that he fooled him. Squidward then blows his laugh box out while laughing at his attempt to fool SpongeBob. SpongeBob gives half of his laugh box to Squidward, causing him to laugh like SpongeBob.

When Mr. Krabs finds out, he tries to convince his mother that Plankton is only after the Krabby Patty secret formula, but Mama Krabs orders her son to stay out of her personal affairs. Mr. Krabs painfully obliges, until Plankton decides to pop the question. The next day, Plankton asks Mama Krabs to marry him, and Mr. Krabs tries to stop him. When she says no, Plankton asks for the secret formula, and Mama Krabs beats him up. Mermaid Man and Barnacle Boy VI: The Motion Picture: After seeing a preview of a Mermaid Man and Barnacle Boy film that will not include the real heroes, SpongeBob and Patrick set out to make their own film, using the real Mermaid Man and Barnacle Boy, and with Pearl in a starring role. They also recruit some of their friends to help out, but run into many setbacks. Finally, SpongeBob and Patrick present their movie at the Krusty Krab and the fan club attends. The end result is a poorly edited, 1-minute long, low-quality film that disappoints fans of Mermaid Man and Barnacle Boy, but the heroes themselves are quite proud of it regardless.

SpongeBob SquarePants Season 4 Episode 8 Patrick SmartPants – SquidBob TentaclePants
Patrick SmartPants: After falling off a cliff, Patrick's intelligence increases significantly. SpongeBob wants Patrick to play with him but he finds SpongeBob childish and declines, and befriends with Squidward and Sandy instead. However, Patrick misses being SpongeBob's friend so he jumps off the cliff again, and he and SpongeBob find out that he landed in a brain coral field. Patrick gets his own head back and becomes his normal, dumb self again. SquidBob TentaclePants: On the eve of Squidward's big clarinet recital, he and SpongeBob are accidentally morphed together by Sandy's teleportation device. Daily life proves to be difficult for them when they are fused together. During Squidward's clarinet recital, their disguise falls off and everybody becomes amazed at how they are morphed together, but Sandy spoils the moment by sending the two back to their original form with her Molecular Separator Ray. Squidward, wanting to be famous again, tries to reverse the device by tampering with it, and ends up fusing himself with SpongeBob, Patrick, Mr. Krabs, Sandy, Pearl and Mrs. Puff into a grotesque flesh-colored blob. He then goes to a therapy session in this new form, now more miserable than ever.

Krusty Towers: Due to his high hotel bill, Mr. Krabs believes hotels to be a gold mine and opens Krusty Towers, including a motto that says that guests must never be denied any of their requests (plagiarizing the motto from the other hotel). When Patrick checks in, Mr. Krabs orders Squidward to cater to his every whim, no matter how ridiculous it is. When Squidward finally has enough, he quits and comes back...as a guest! Now the tables are turned as Squidward's unreasonable demands force Mr. Krabs to regret his motto. Mrs. Puff, You're Fired: Mrs. Puff is fired after SpongeBob fails his driving test again, and is replaced by a drill sergeant whose methods are uncommon.

The episode ends with his beloved spatula (which had recovered from its injuries) flipping some Krabby Patties. SpongeBob yet had to face another Monster Krabby Patty, this time snapping his arms but he laughs at them without pain. Wishing You Well: Mr. Krabs has SpongeBob and Squidward dig a wishing well in another moneymaking scheme.

Good Ol' Whatshisname: Mr. Krabs organizes a work contest for SpongeBob and Squidward that involves naming all the customers at the Krusty Krab. He shows them a brochure for a cruise vacation as a prize; Squidward becomes very determined to win the cruise prize at any costs. After efforts from his two employees, Mr. Krabs did not tally the scores, but tells them that to know the last customer's name will decide who will win. Squidward then asks the fish his name but the fish has a ridiculous name that sounds alike to "What's it to ya?" Squidward steals the customer's wallet to look at the driver's license. Squidward gets arrested and sentenced to exactly 10 years in prison. In jail, he excitedly gets the prize from Mr. Krabs, only to find, to his dismay, that the cruise that the brochure offers has long been expired, and that the prize is just the brochure.

He attempts to use various methods, to the point of destroying the restaurant. In the end, SpongeBob succeeds to clean the plate, but destroys the Krusty Krab in the process from a nuclear explosion.

To Save a Squirrel: SpongeBob and Patrick are scared of a cricket and after sneaking into Sandy's camping trip SpongeBob and Patrick are stranded in a cave. SpongeBob and Patrick meet an old man, who convinces each of them to eat his friend. SpongeBob and Patrick then make attempts to eat each other. The old man is impressed, and he then reveals that he is really Sandy. Sandy gives SpongeBob and Patrick survivor badges.

Krabs exits the sauna and tries to get to his date, unaware that SpongeBob and Patrick have already made it there with the chum being.

Friendiversary: It's the day of SpongeBob and Squidward's "friendiversary," and SpongeBob continuously stalks Squidward around trying to celebrate and create more memories with him. The sponge's refusal to leave Squidward alone drives him to his edge, figuratively and literally erasing SpongeBob's knowledge of him. When Mr. Krabs reveals that SpongeBob's memories of Squidward keeps the Krabby Patty secret formula in check, the cephalopod's got to revive SpongeBob's recollection of him in a sequence of callbacks to various episodes from the past thirteen seasons of the series. Mandatory Music: When Squidward's awful clarinet playing ends up causing destruction and damage around town, he's forced to take music classes at Little Flipper Music Academy, in which he's constantly frustrated his by supposed lack of talent and the superiority of SpongeBob's "flute-nose" music technique.
